Our award-winning programme brings together South London boroughs in consortium for the commissioning of services for children and young people. This work currently covers two strands: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Looked After Children (LAC).
The ambition is to drive up the quality of placements, improve outcomes for children and young people, deliver efficiencies and savings, standardise best practice, embed co-production with all stakeholders, and to creatively tackle shared issues.
Our work centres on delivering an integrated commissioning solution (ICS) for both strands. This consists of five interconnected activity areas – Needs Analysis, Placement, Quality, Commissioning and Procurement and Engagement – which all contribute to achieving the main aims of the programme.
In recognition of our pioneering work, the SLCP has been awarded with the National Government Opportunities Procurement Award for ‘Innovation of the Year’ and the coveted LGC Award for efficiency.
